Superbowl!

February 3, 2008 at 12:30 pm (Uncategorized)

Alright, sports fans, the day is finally upon us. Super Bowl XLII is finally here. Will we see history in the making (Patriots win)? Or will we see…history in the making…(Giants win). Sorry for the reusing of the same term. Couldn’t think of anything else to describe what could happen. Either way, should be a decent game to watch. Even if the game seems very skewed to one side. Hopefully the commercials are better this year than they were last year. That is one of the huge draws to the Super Bowl (for me at least). Budweiser usually doesn’t disappoint. I wonder who else will step up this year? I’ll repost to cap off the action after the game is up. Have a great Super Bowl party! Be sure not to let that one guy near the hot wings. Remember last time? That was just not sanitary.

Edit: Wow. Just wow. I hope you readers out there watched that game. Not only was it the most exciting game of the past 5 years or so, but the underdog won! I still can’t believe the Giants won. Poor Brady. Maybe next year.

Now you can take your finger off the screen.

February 3, 2008 at 12:24 pm (Electronics)

Ahh, Elliptic Labs. You rascals you. You were tired of the same old touch screen and you wanted to spruce things up a bit. Well now you have. Elliptic Labs has released some details on their new project in which will include a monitor that monitors (pun intended) your finger movement in order to recreate the “touch screen monitor” without you actually having to touch it. It operates in thin air and doesn’t require you to wear some sort of apparatus or anything like that. They haven’t released too much information on it yet although a demo has been shown. For those curious to see it in action, go here. I still remain a little skeptical of the whole thing though. How does one get this to work without many of the foreseeable hitches that come with movement based products? If you make a wrong gesture? Maybe they will figure these things out. Who knows?

How much will Chrono Trigger cost you?

February 3, 2008 at 11:58 am (Movies)

Well according to eBay, it is upwards of 400 dollars. A seller is currently auctioning a sealed, original copy of Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo and it has so far climbed to $420. 55. It won’t stop there either, I’m thinking, due to the thirty bidders and the 36 hour hours left to bid on that sucker. Boy oh boy I wish I had a spare $500 to bid on that one. I remember my days of Chrono Trigger very fondly and over the years nothing much has changed with that opinion. Still a great game. And to own one that has never been opened does sound like quite the catch. But with it being more expensive than buying a PS3, only the few hardcore fans are probably going to go after it. But the question is, will they play it after they buy it? Or keep it as a heirloom, stored in some gaming chamber of theirs?
