Venom is back!
Yes, you heard me right. Venom is indeed coming back to the big screen. It seems that there wasn’t enough love for the big guy in Spider-man 3 (agreed). Don’t get me wrong, Topher did a darn good job. Looked like he was going for Ultimate Spider-man Brock. So quit hating on him! But I digress. From the people at IESB comes the announcement that Marvel has indeed made plans to feature Smiley in his very own movie. Still no word as to what studio will be producing this but they have said that they are auditioning several A-list actors for the role. I wonder just how exactly do you make a movie where the main character is a bad guy? Be interesting to see. We can only hope for the best.
Oom! Oom!
That means out of mana in the wide world of warcraft. But thanks to Blizzard, you won’t ever have to say that in real life. The Mana Energy Potion aims to snatch even more money out of your pocket by giving players just what they need for the over night raids in Black Temple. This thing looks a little excessive though, in my own humble opinion. Wondering why? Well that would be because it is apparently equivalent to two Red Bulls or four cups of coffee. Yikes. Know how much Vitamin B12 that is? Well it just so happens to be equal to 6667% of your recommended daily intake. Yeah, I said it. 6667%. Just what were they trying to accomplish here? I guess you could drink it in moderation, but then even still…That’s a lot of energy. Personally, I’m not touching them unless I can cast a Shadowbolt after consuming said beverage.
Super Heroine finalists!
Remember about a week back or so I posted about a super heroine creation contest being hosted by Shadowline? Well, today they have released the ten finalists from which the winner will be chosen. They will be turning in their first 5 pages of their script and if they deviate from the instructions given to them by Shadowline, they will be disqualified. Synopses will be posted on March 10th, 2008 and you get to vote for them starting on March 12th. In case you wanted to know just who exactly were the finalists, here they be:
Tom Arguello
Corey Brotherson
Kat Cahill
DeWayne Feenstra
John Karoauk
Dirk Manning
Rev. C. Edward Sellner
Joe Sergi
Aaron Settle
Kristopher Waddell
Congrats go out to all of them. Good luck people!
Arcade Heaven does exist on Earth
Like retro arcade gaming? Like free things? Well then you are going to love Luna City Arcade. Privately funded, owned, and operated by a Mr. Peter Hirschberg, this arcade mecca is chock full of all the games you loved to play as a kid and then some. Amazingly, to me at least, is the fact that he doesn’t ask for a penny from you. He allows people to just walk in and play using his own money. Now that is one man dedicated to catering to the nostalgic players of the world. If you want to know more about the arcade, I suggest heading on over here http://www.peterhirschberg.com/arcade/gameroom.htm. We need more Peter Hirschbergs in this world. May I suggest next an all rhythm and music arcade with private booths? Would be great for parties.
Pick of the Week 2-4-08
It’s that time again! Pick of the Week is upon us once again and I am ready to give you some great new things that you definitely need to check out!
Movies – Okay, so I haven’t seen a new movie over the weekend because nothing really excited me but I did catch the Iron Man Super Bowl spot and I was definitely impressed. Being that I used to be an Iron Man fan (Civil War saw to the end of that), I must say that it is shaping up to be a decent movie. I love Jon Favreau, great director, but I wasn’t so sure he could make a movie such as this. And Downey is definitely a good fit for the role in my opinion. Hopefully the graphics are a little better when you see them on the big screen. They did seem a little hokey.
Comics – X-Men 207. Just a spectacular ending to a spectacular series. Not much more to say other than read this. Don’t want to spoil anything for you guys.
Games – Devil May Cry 4. Holy smokes it appears as if Capcom is still on the ball when it comes to action games. Devil May Cry 4 is breathtaking visually and it plays so well. Smooth, fluid action transitions well into the storyline and Nero is, although similar, very unique and different from Dante. Be sure to pick this game up. Or else you might make the Devil…cry…sorry, bad joke there.
Electronics – Q42 HDTV and Chimera PC. This is definitely a nice looking setup. However, if it was a little cheaper then I could back it up more wholeheartedly. As it stands with its $3850 price tag, you probably could buy the components separately and it would be cheaper. Still, not a bad idea though.
Be sure to check out these items and tell me what you think. Have any better items for the week? Be sure to post on the comments section and tell us!
