King of Fighters XII trailer.

February 15, 2008 at 11:51 am (Games)

I need this! Being that I have been a fan for pretty much all of my gaming career, this is definitely one game that I will have to buy. Be sure to watch the whole trailer through. Because they try to fool you with the graphics. Kotaku has the trailer and this link will take you there. Yes, yes I know that the trailer isn’t the best quality, it is shaky cam (just a phrase) but good enough for now, I guess.

Walmart says, “Nuh uh, HD-DVD who?”

February 15, 2008 at 11:30 am (Electronics)

Wal-Mart Moving Exclusively Toward Blu-ray Format Movies and Players Bentonville, Ark., Feb. 15, 2008 – Wal-Mart Stores, U.S. today announces that its 4,000 Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores will move forward this year with one hi-definition movie and hardware format: Blu-ray. The change will take place quickly over the next several months whereby the retailer will phase out HD DVD offerings and reorganize shelf space. By June, Wal-Mart stores, Sam’s Clubs, www.walmart.com and www.samsclub.com will offer only Blu-ray movies and hardware machines, as well as standard definition movies and DVD players, and up converts.

“We’ve listened to our customers, who are showing a clear preference toward Blu-ray products and movies with their purchases,” said Gary Severson, senior vice president, Home Entertainment, Wal-Mart, U.S. “With the customers best interest in all we do, we wanted to share our decision and timeline with them as soon as possible, knowing it will help simplify their purchase decision, increase selection, and increase adoption long term. We anticipate enhancing our selection with continued great values in hi-definition Blu-ray products, so our customers can further enhance their entertainment experience at home.”

Wal-Mart will continue to sell through remaining HD DVD product, but in less than 30 days customers will see a more predominant move toward Blu-ray in stores, clubs and online. As the nation’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart thoughtfully reviewed all areas and impact in making its decision, and is excited to move forward with one format and share its future plans with customers.

I think we can officially start holding the burial ceremonies for HD-DVD now. It’s time to let go! Move on people!

Quaid as Hawk. Sexy.

February 15, 2008 at 11:28 am (Movies)

That is Dennis Quaid as Hawk in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie. Looking pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. Not exactly how Hawk looks like, but I think they are going for a more modern look anyways. Which they are doing well in so far. Any more photos pop up and I’ll post them. Until then, make do with the Quaid.

Trailers galore! Pineapple Express!

February 15, 2008 at 11:23 am (Movies)

One more quick trailer to give to you folks out there and that is the trailer to Seth Rogen’s new film, Pineapple Express. It also stars James Franco and I do declare, it looks hysterical. Well, I mean, hysterical to people who enjoy this brand of comedy and sharp writing. Which includes me. So, yeah. Check it out. One last word, might not be too appropriate for the kiddies seeing as this is the redband trailer. Which means its the R trailer. Just fyi.

Edit -  Sorry folks, looks like it got taken down, let me redirect you to a different one. http://youtube.com/watch?v=vtpzBjnctME

First look at the new M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening.

February 15, 2008 at 11:09 am (Movies)

Mr. Night is one director that people love to hate. With just cause too. He launched his career with The Sixth Sense and it had, still to this day, one of the best climaxes in the scene. Everyone loved it. And so we waited for his next film. Which was Unbreakable. That turned out to be a disappointment. Supposedly his take on the whole superhero genre. But we could forgive him, because he gave us, “I see dead people.” Then Signs came out, and it was not the success of The Sixth Sense, but still a good movie overall. Once again, we hoped for the next film. Only to have us disappointed again with the complete turnaround that was The Village. Not saying that its a bad movie. But the way it was marketed as a horror film was completely the wrong way to go. Thus, we come across the Happening (not really going to count The Lady in the Water). It looks good, looks semi-scary, great cast so far. Only time will tell if its good or not. I’ll let you be the judge with the trailer.
