Gragh.
Apologies are needed. I really do apologize for the lack of posting. I was on a trip and thought that I would be able to update via the interwebs on my laptop, but lo and behold, it broke on me, leaving me virtually cut off from the outside world (i.e. you guys). So, I apologize. Sincerely. Since I just got back right now (12:14 am for me) I am just posting this message to any of my readers out there as an update, to make sure you guys know I’m still alive. I will resume regular posting tomorrow morning when I don’t feel like a zombie. See you guys/gals tomorrow!
Sorry.
No posts today nor will I be doing Pick of the week. Just too busy! @.@
I apologize for all of you ladies out there who need my blog to live. I’ll be back tomorrow so don’t fret.
Pick of the Week 2-25-08 (Back on track :P)
Yes indeed you are seeing that right. I am on time for once and releasing my picks of the week in a timely fashion. So rejoice! If you enjoy this post that is. I mean, if you aren’t a fan, at least tell me why? What about the good times we shared together? I thought you loved me? Maybe we just need some “time apart.”
Comics – Captain America #35 comes out in two days and you better get it. Even if you don’t like comics, I still suggest you get this comic as it will most likely be the best comic ever. Even better than the last one. And if you don’t get it, I won’t be your friend anymore. Actually I’ll still be your friend. Are we still cool?
Electronics – Breast Massage Robot is just what I expect a fellow male scientist to invent (not that I’m a scientist or anything, just a simple man). Honestly, does this guy seriously expect this to take off (no pun intended)? This has got to be the most worst invention I have heard in quite some time. What has this world come to? Although there are some beneficial qualities to rubbing the old bewbs, I’m pretty sure a woman can do that on her own time. Mr. Wang Fei sir, try a different venue.
Games – Lost Planet : Extreme Condition just came out (well tomorrow that is). As I have played this on the 360, I would recommend that you PS3 owners pick this up as well (I will too). Pretty solid overall game with my favorite Korean actor playing the main character. Nothing much has changed from the 360 save some minor things so the quality should remain the same. A definite pick up for those that are starving for games on the PS3.
Movies – Be Kind, Rewind is definitely a movie that needs to be viewed. Forget the fact that it is directed by Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was such a good movie), forget the fact that two great (in my opinion) actors are starring in the film, Jack Black and Mos Def. This movie is just pure entertainment. Great fun. You really can’t go wrong with this film.
And that is it! Tune in next week to see if I can continue this on-time run. Knock on wood.
Pick of the week (delayed again, sorry :() 2-20-08
APOLOGIES, I’m so horrible at keeping this up. Damn my forgetfulness! I blame video games! Just kidding there. Without further ado, here is your list!
Comics – X-Force #1. Finally, a team dedicated to anything that Cyclops was worried would ruin his goody goody two shoes image. Starring Wolverine, X-23, Rahne and Warpath, they are a team that is assigned to do the dirty work of the X-Men. Because sometimes, you just have to get your hands dirty. Clayton Crain, who worked on two series I absolutely loved (Sensational Spider-Man and Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears), is helmed to do the artwork here and Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle are returning here to flesh out the story as writers (they were previously the writers for the New X-Men Messiah Complex series) it is looking to be a very promising title.
Electronics – The Epoc (without a H) is looking to rock the electronic world with the thought of getting your inner psychic on. The thing basically allows you to become a fledgling psychic, which everybody has dreamt of once in their lives. Amazing thing really. Who know where this could lead us to? Maybe virtual games in 2020? You heard it here first.
Games – Not many games have been coming out so I’m (semi) forced to pick this game. That game is Dynasty Warriors 6. Yes, yes I know, Dynasty Warriors? That game is like rolling around in feces. But this year, Koei has actually done a decent job. Especially if you have never played the series before, now would be a good time to check it out as this game is easily the best one yet. For those who have played it before and want to own at least one of the series because they (semi) like it, pick this one up. Overall, a very solid game. Unless you just flat out hate Dynasty Warriors in which case you should probably save your money for something better.
Movies – Jumper is looking to be a solid movie. Sure the dialogue is kind of hokey and Hayden isn’t too impressive as an actor in here. But the concept is very interesting seeing as how we have seen teleporting done before, just not to the scale that this film takes it. Also, Samuel L. Jackson is in the movie. Need I really say more? “Yes, they deserved to die! I hope they burn in hell!” Priceless.
Yipes! Pick of the Week (late edition) 2-13-08
Sorry for the delay folks, my mind must have been elsewhere. Here is my (delayed) pick of the week!
Comics – The Darkness is the one of the most highly anticipated comic books to return in a long time. It had massive success and really put Top Cow on the map. Now, with a successful game to add under their belt, Top Cow has decided to bring back this wonderful series to continue the adventures of our favorite Mafia hitman, Jackie Estacado. The visuals are of the same Top Cow excellence and the story seems intriguing. Top Cow doesn’t usually disappoint and I look forward to this comic.
Electronics - Plantronics’ new Explorer 370BT is quite possibly the most rugged earpiece I have seen (for now). This baby is made to withstand dust, water, minor impact and coated with rubber. With built in noise-filtering technology, eight days of stand-by time and seven hours of talk time, it seems to have everything you need in a headset. So be sure to check it out.
Games – Lost Odyssey came out yesterday and I had the chance to try it and I have to say that I was impressed. Sure, it may be the same old story, with the same old characters that you expect in a RPG. And sure, it may have been very cliche in its battle system and the such. But it got to me because it never tried to be anything else but a throwback to the classic RPG’s that we love (at least me). The visuals were great and overall it seemed like a good game. Not saying its the greatest, but you should definitely at least check it out.
Movies – Jumper is coming out tomorrow and yes, I know that I have yet to see it so this pick seems kind of hasty. However, I believe that it will be a good movie and the casting seems great (despite people hating on him, I like Hayden). The premise is something that I haven’t seen in films and Samuel L. Jackson is in it. What could go wrong?
There we have it. The (late) Picks of the Week! Be sure to tune in next week for hopefully a (on time) Pick of the Week! Until then!
Pick of the Week 2-4-08
It’s that time again! Pick of the Week is upon us once again and I am ready to give you some great new things that you definitely need to check out!
Movies – Okay, so I haven’t seen a new movie over the weekend because nothing really excited me but I did catch the Iron Man Super Bowl spot and I was definitely impressed. Being that I used to be an Iron Man fan (Civil War saw to the end of that), I must say that it is shaping up to be a decent movie. I love Jon Favreau, great director, but I wasn’t so sure he could make a movie such as this. And Downey is definitely a good fit for the role in my opinion. Hopefully the graphics are a little better when you see them on the big screen. They did seem a little hokey.
Comics – X-Men 207. Just a spectacular ending to a spectacular series. Not much more to say other than read this. Don’t want to spoil anything for you guys.
Games – Devil May Cry 4. Holy smokes it appears as if Capcom is still on the ball when it comes to action games. Devil May Cry 4 is breathtaking visually and it plays so well. Smooth, fluid action transitions well into the storyline and Nero is, although similar, very unique and different from Dante. Be sure to pick this game up. Or else you might make the Devil…cry…sorry, bad joke there.
Electronics – Q42 HDTV and Chimera PC. This is definitely a nice looking setup. However, if it was a little cheaper then I could back it up more wholeheartedly. As it stands with its $3850 price tag, you probably could buy the components separately and it would be cheaper. Still, not a bad idea though.
Be sure to check out these items and tell me what you think. Have any better items for the week? Be sure to post on the comments section and tell us!
Superbowl!
Alright, sports fans, the day is finally upon us. Super Bowl XLII is finally here. Will we see history in the making (Patriots win)? Or will we see…history in the making…(Giants win). Sorry for the reusing of the same term. Couldn’t think of anything else to describe what could happen. Either way, should be a decent game to watch. Even if the game seems very skewed to one side. Hopefully the commercials are better this year than they were last year. That is one of the huge draws to the Super Bowl (for me at least). Budweiser usually doesn’t disappoint. I wonder who else will step up this year? I’ll repost to cap off the action after the game is up. Have a great Super Bowl party! Be sure not to let that one guy near the hot wings. Remember last time? That was just not sanitary.
Edit: Wow. Just wow. I hope you readers out there watched that game. Not only was it the most exciting game of the past 5 years or so, but the underdog won! I still can’t believe the Giants won. Poor Brady. Maybe next year.
Pick of the week!
This will be a weekly segment featuring what I believe to be THE pick for the multiple genres that I am interested in. So basically, you will be seeing four picks per week declaring what I, your beloved blogger, feel that you should be watching/reading/playing/using.
And so, I shall start out the week by providing you with what is hot hot hot!
Comics – This I guess is a no-brainer for those who are active in the comic world, but if you are not, then I highly suggest picking yourself up a copy of the massive crossover event called “The Messiah Complex” by Marvel. It features prominently the X-Men and it includes a diverse array of artists and writers and a storyline that pulls you in deeper and deeper as you go along. You will not regret it!
Movies – Currently, I’m kind of slouching when it comes to movies as I haven’t yet seen some of the more recent movies to come out so I will start out my pick for movies with one that is slightly old but a must see regardless. That movie is Sweeney Todd. Tim Burton has always shined (at least, for me, that is) when it comes to directing a movie and his latest doesn’t disappoint. Like many of his other movies, this film is dark, with music being a central focus in delivering the story. However, be prepared. Blood is in this movie. I’m talking gallons here folks. Copious amounts of it. So definitely not for the squeemish.
Games – Again, I’m also kind of slouching here too (what can I say, it was a busy winter) so I cannot give you the up to date pick for the game of the week. However, I can give you one that should be played asap and that game is Unreal Tournament 3. Sure, you might be saying, “But Clazzi-Flo, its just another FPS (First-Person Shooter) and yes, typically, I would agree with you. But UT3 has always held a special place in my heart for being a truly great FPS series. They constantly try to outdo themselves and UT3 has done just that. Not only does Epic Games ravage your eyes with their impressive visuals but the game handles smoothly and works exactly as a FPS should.
Electronics – Now that the format wars seem officially dead (never know but I’m just saying it how I see it), now would be a great time to grab yourself a Blu-ray player. Many companies offer them at a fair and competitive price and I believe we will only see them begin to drop now that it has become the go to format. Finally, you can stop from having to agonizingly choose between two formats and prepare to take a step into next generation.
Guten Tag! Jambo! Konbanwa! Ahnyung! Hello!
Welcome to the very exciting (at least to me it is
) and very new blog of Clazzi-Flo’s Entertainment Emporium! *applause
I am very anxious to start writing my own personal opinions of the very things that interest me the most and anticipating the feedback from you, Dear Reader! This Blog is my first real foray into the Blogging world so I will be taking things just a little slowly and safely until I get the hang of things. Then hopefully we can go from there and really take this thing places. I hope you come to enjoy my rantings and feel free to tell your friends about it!
