Mr. T now has a graphic novel…fool!

February 29, 2008 at 11:36 am (Comics)

So when you think of Mr. T, I’m sure the first thing to come to mind is a graphic novel superstar. No? It isn’t? Well then, you sir/ma’am are not American. Mr. T has announced that he will be featured in his very own graphic novel to be launched in the summer of 2008. A total of 4,000 copies have been made so far (the Limited Edition that is) and it marks the return of our favorite muscle-bound, mohawk wearing, slang machine that we have come to love. I might actually check this out. If not simply for the fact that I don’t want to be pitied. I hear he does that. As soon as pics come up, I will post them. Until then, keep watching those A-team DVD’s.

Love Guru Trailer.

February 29, 2008 at 11:26 am (Movies)

Mike Myers is a funny man. No mistaking that. Anyone who disagrees need only to reference his work on Saturday Night Live and maybe Austin Powers (the first one). However, he does have a tendency to use the same jokes and it gets a little bland. The same seems to hold true for The Love Guru, his newest film starring Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake. After taking a lookey-loo at this trailer, I can’t help but feel a slight disappointment with it but still have hope. It looks decent and yet at the same time, it doesn’t. The trailer can be seen here. You can be the judge of it. Like Simon from American Idol. Or Paula. Whatever floats your boat.

Why don’t I have a sink like this?

February 28, 2008 at 10:57 am (Electronics)

Definitely one of the more better looking sinks I have seen. The only question remains is how do you work this thing? Well, it turns out that you have to move that little metal ball thingie around to control the temperature of the water. The LED light will glow according to what temperature it is. Blue for cold and red for hot. Makes sense. I imagine this baby costing you an arm and leg, but at least your other arm and leg are still there. What do you need two of each for? Overrated, I say. Pictures after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

What the…Death Star?!?

February 28, 2008 at 10:46 am (Electronics)

First off, sorry for the lack of posting. I do apologize. Lack of news plus me having a hectic schedule does that sometimes. But I’ll always come back to you. Okay, with that out of the way, what in the world is going on here. Why doesn’t America have these awesome inventions? And by inventions of course I mean buildings. Why did I use the word inventions? Must be Vader. He loves his practical jokes. Sometimes a little too much…I’m on to you Vader! Especially since I know where you live!

Edit: I realize that two things. I didn’t really give you any information on this sucker and I neglected to add the other pictures that happen to show its not really Death Star looking. This is a hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan and it measures at 512 feet tall. And pictures are after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Pick of the Week 2-25-08 (Back on track :P)

February 25, 2008 at 11:44 am (Uncategorized)

Yes indeed you are seeing that right. I am on time for once and releasing my picks of the week in a timely fashion. So rejoice! If you enjoy this post that is. I mean, if you aren’t a fan, at least tell me why? What about the good times we shared together? I thought you loved me? Maybe we just need some “time apart.”

Comics – Captain America #35 comes out in two days and you better get it. Even if you don’t like comics, I still suggest you get this comic as it will most likely be the best comic ever. Even better than the last one. And if you don’t get it, I won’t be your friend anymore. Actually I’ll still be your friend. Are we still cool?

Electronics – Breast Massage Robot is just what I expect a fellow male scientist to invent (not that I’m a scientist or anything, just a simple man). Honestly, does this guy seriously expect this to take off (no pun intended)? This has got to be the most worst invention I have heard in quite some time. What has this world come to? Although there are some beneficial qualities to rubbing the old bewbs, I’m pretty sure a woman can do that on her own time. Mr. Wang Fei sir, try a different venue.

Games – Lost Planet : Extreme Condition just came out (well tomorrow that is). As I have played this on the 360, I would recommend that you PS3 owners pick this up as well (I will too). Pretty solid overall game with my favorite Korean actor playing the main character. Nothing much has changed from the 360 save some minor things so the quality should remain the same. A definite pick up for those that are starving for games on the PS3.

Movies – Be Kind, Rewind is definitely a movie that needs to be viewed. Forget the fact that it is directed by Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was such a good movie), forget the fact that two great (in my opinion) actors are starring in the film, Jack Black and Mos Def. This movie is just pure entertainment. Great fun. You really can’t go wrong with this film.

And that is it! Tune in next week to see if I can continue this on-time run. Knock on wood.

Statham to kick some @$$ in Crank 2 and Transporter 3.

February 25, 2008 at 11:14 am (Movies)

Crank 2 huh? How in the world is that possible seeing as how I watched him fall from a helicopter onto the ground and watched his (graphic time) blood ooze out of his face? Sounds like there is going to be some fancy story telling to get this horse off of the ground. Anywho, I digress. Statham has announced that he will indeed be making a sequel to his often maligned but still enjoyed film, Crank. Your guess is as good as mine as to how he will be revived. However, filming will not start until he is done with his other film, one last go as the Transporter. Statham was reported as saying that he felt the second film was kind of too cartoonish with its stunts (I totally agree) and that he feels that this newest installment will hope to tone down some of that while still delivering the thrills. Can’t wait to see these films. Huge Statham fan I am.

Writers found for Pinhead, woohoo?

February 25, 2008 at 11:07 am (Movies)

The Hellraiser franchise has never (to me) been that great seeing as how most of the movies felt like B-movies to me. But it does have its steady legion of horror fans and so I guess this post goes out to them. Seems as though they have indeed found writers for the remake of Hellraiser and they are Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan who burst onto the scene as the writers for Feast. Since Feast, they have worked on Saw 4 and 5 and the remake of the Tingler. While I did enjoy Feast(and Saw 4 was, how do I put it? Meh), I’m not quite sure that this movie is essentially right for them. Just my two cents however. In case you were wondering, Clive Barker is only on to produce the film. So yeah.

And the winners are…

February 25, 2008 at 11:01 am (Movies)

80th Academy Awards happened last night, where were you? Hopefully not watching because then you would have no reason to be reading this article. So, um, read on then. In case you are curious as to who won.

Best Motion Picture – No Country for Old Men (Yes! This film was excellent, if not simple)

Best Actor – Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will be Blood (I was hoping for Viggo here, but a well deserved award nonetheless)

Best Supporting Actor – Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men (One of the most original portrayal of a assassin I have ever seen)

Best Actress – Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose (Huh? No honestly, who? Haven’t seen this movie…)

Best Supporting Actress – Tilda Swinton in Michael Clayton (Excellent nomination as she was superb in this already glowing movie)

Best Animated Movie – Ratatouille (Surprisingly well done movie with a cast of actors that aren’t so well known)

Achievement in Art Direction – Art Direction: Dennis Gassner; Set Decoration: Anna Pinnock for Sweeney Todd (Would have been shocked if they didn’t win, the movie was like nothing I have seen before and yet so familiar being a Tim Burton fan)

Achievement in Cinematography – Robert Elswit in There Will be Blood (Hmm, would’ve preferred that Robert Deakins won here as the Assassination of Jesse James was just a little bit better to me)

Best Screenplay – Joel and Ethan Coen in No Country for Old Men (Just an excellent screenplay, no arguments here)

Best Director – Joel and Ethan Coen in No Coountry for Old Men (See above response only take away screenplay and add direction of movie)

Well those were the main categories (to me) and if you were interested in finding out all of the nights winners, I suggest you head on over to the Oscar’s web page and
