Dubai = Futuristic?

I’ll admit. I must be out of the loop when it comes to futuristic cities. Upon hearing that Minneapolis is one of the most technologically advanced places in the U.S., I just kind of scratched my head. So of course, upon hearing that Dubai is really pushing the envelope, I could only invoke the same reaction. They are beginning construction on a new bridge that is sure to blow the minds of any bridgephile (not sure if that’s a word). Envisioned by NY architecture firm Fxfowle, it stands 670 feet tall and stretches for one mile long. They will start building it in about a month and it will not be finished until the year of 2012 after it drains $817 million dollars. Yikes. I’m sure you want to see pictures of this thing. But be forewarned, its so gorgeous it might sear your eyes out. Pictures after the jump earth creature.
